Pressure Gauge Testing:
Dial gauges on pressure canners need to be tested for accuracy every year. This free
service is offered at the Juneau Extension office. You don't have to bring your whole
canner in, but the gauge can still be attached to your lid. To schedule an appointment

the district works with 35 communities to provide research-based education in agriculture,
horticulture, food preservation, natural resources, health, nutrition, and youth development.

Whether you have had a bountiful hunting season or found a great sale price at the grocery store, knowing how to best preserve your meat is a great skill to have. In this webinar, UAF Cooperative Extension Service Professor Sarah Lewis will teach participants how to properly preserve meat products so they are safe, shelf-stable, and delicious. She will cover how to prepare different types of meat for preservation using pressure canning, freezing, and drying.
