91视频 Motor Vehicle Crash Report

91视频 Statute 28.35.080- 鈥Immediate Notice of Accident鈥- mandates that the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in bodily injury, death, or 鈥渢otal property damage to an apparent extent of $2,000.00鈥 shall by quickest means of communication notify their local police department, or the 91视频 State Troopers if the accident occurs outside of a municipality.

The driver of a vehicle involved in such an accident is required to submit a written report to the State of 91视频鈥檚 Department of Administration within 10 days of the accident. This 鈥渃itizens report form鈥 provides both collision information, as well as certification of the driver鈥檚 insurance. Failure to submit this form can result in an administrative suspension of one鈥檚 driver鈥檚 license for failure to provide proof-of-insurance. Submission of this 鈥渃itizens report form鈥 is not required for those serious accidents where a police officer responds and completes an investigation and written report.

In the past, those involved in such accidents needed to come to their local police department or Trooper Post and pick up the citizen鈥檚 accident reporting form, fill it out, and mail it to Juneau. This process can now be done entirely on-line, with the necessary form.
