Haley Hanson named director of Kuskokwim Campus

After a competitive search, Haley Hanson has accepted the position of permanent director of the Kuskokwim Campus effective Aug. 25, 2025.

Hanson has served in the interim role since August 2024, demonstrating strong leadership, strategic vision and a steadfast commitment to student success. During her tenure, she has advanced academic initiatives, strengthened community and institutional partnerships, and fostered an inclusive and supportive campus environment.

“Her dedication to rural education and her collaborative approach has elevated the Kuskokwim Campus in ways that will benefit students and the community for years to come,” said Bryan Uher, interim vice chancellor for rural, community and Native education.

As director, Hanson will continue to oversee campus operations, academic programming and community engagement efforts in Bethel and the surrounding region. Her appointment reflects the university’s confidence in her ability to lead the campus into its next chapter of growth and innovation.

The university extends its congratulations to Hanson and encourages faculty, staff, students and community members to support her in this new role.
