This week UAF leadership participated in a friendly bowling competition sponsored by the Interior delegation to support the Fairbanks Community Food Bank. We had a great time and secured food and other products that will help families in need. The evening’s competition reminded me once again of how much this community cares. That spirit is needed now more than ever.

UAF chancellor search committee partners with national search firm

The UAF chancellor search committee is temporarily pausing its efforts in order to partner with WittKeiffer, a nationally recognized executive search firm that is also leading the search for a new UA president. This strategic step is designed to elevate the opportunity, strengthen recruitment efforts, expand outreach and ensure UAF attracts the most qualified and diverse pool of candidates. As part of the process, WittKiefer will collaborate with the current search committee and build on its work, including assisting with vetting candidates who have already submitted their applications.

In preparation for the FY28 State of 91ÊÓÆµ budget cycle, UAF leadership is soliciting proposals from UAF faculty and staff for state operating base funding (unrestricted general funds) and one-time capital research or IT-related projects. FY28 begins July 1, 2027, and ends June 30, 2028. The deadline for proposal submission is Jan. 30, 2026.
