Constitution Hall construction alert

Facilities Services will begin a sanitary sewer replacement project near Constitution Hall next week. The existing sewer line serving the building has experienced repeated blockages and backups over the past several years. Recent investigation identified sections of the pipe that have settled, along with root intrusion from nearby trees, as the primary causes of the failure.
Construction crews will install a new sewer line that will be routed northwest toward the alley adjacent to Wood Center. During the project, there will be a brief, building-wide water outage when the new line is connected to the building. This outage will be carefully coordinated, and advance notice will be provided before the work occurs.
The project is expected to be complete before students return in mid-August. Facilities Services appreciates your patience as they complete this important infrastructure improvement.
