2026 Chancellor's Cornerstone Award nomination period opens Dec. 1

Nov. 24, 2025

The nomination period for the 2026 UAF Chancellor’s Cornerstone Award is open from Dec. 1, 2025, through Feb. 20, 2026.

This award honors staff who embody the spirit of dedication, service, and community that helped build the university. It is named in recognition of longtime staff member Audrey Loftus, who protected the original UAF cornerstone and helped lay the foundation for programs such as Career Services, the UA Foundation and the UAF Alumni Association. Like Loftus, many employees are cornerstones of UAF’s past, present, and future. This award celebrates their impact.

All departments are encouraged to recognize their employees and submit nominations for staff members both within and outside their units.

Nominations may be submitted by peers, supervisors, customers, stakeholders, students, faculty, and any academic, administrative, support, sponsored research, or service staff who work with the nominee. The award committee is composed of volunteer members of UAF Staff Council and, when possible, at least one previous award recipient. Final selections are made by the chancellor.
