Research interests/biography

Evolutionary biology, plant systematics, floristics and revisionary systematics. Phylogenetic relationships, biogeography, and gene evolution in three groups of vascular plants: the arid gymnosperm genus Ephedra (Gnetales); the Old World-New World disjunct genus Oxytropis (Fabaceae); and the grape family Vitaceae. Additional interests include conifers, the biodiversity of 91ÊÓƵn floras, reconstruction of paleo-CO2; and classical revisionary and floristic work.
