Updated: Thursday, May 14, 2026

The pollen heavy hitters have arrived. If you’ve been waiting for the "main event" of the spring allergy season, today is the day. We have officially moved into High territory for our two biggest tree pollen, and we have a new conifer joining the lineup.

Alder - 9 - low

Poplar/cottonwood/aspen - 243 - high

Willow - 4 - low

Birch - 252 - high

Tamarack - 1 - low

Sedge - 1 - low

Susan Harry’s Pollen Counts are provided by One Tree 91ÊÓƵ, with help from UAF Cooperative Extension.

View the National Allergy Bureau chart to see what low, moderate, high and very high levels of pollen are per species.

This page will be updated during the Fairbanks pollen season.

KEY: Green is low; yellow is moderate; orange is high; red is very high.
