There鈥檚 more to professional etiquette than a firm handshake and the right fork. CBSM students had the chance to experience this firsthand at the 2026 Etiquette Seminar and Dinner.

Warm fall sunshine and lively conversation set the tone as students and business professionals gathered for an afternoon focused on building confidence in professional settings.

The afternoon began with a presentation from Melissa Jay, Senior Audit Manager at KPMG, on building your personal brand. Melissa highlighted the importance of following your host鈥檚 lead at professional dinners and shared tips for communicating effectively in the workplace.

Following the presentation, students participated in a Q&A with the professionals, who shared insights and personal experiences about navigating a variety of workplace situations. The discussion continued during a lightning round, giving students the opportunity to connect directly with professionals and ask quick, candid questions.

Even after the lightning round ended, students and professionals continued getting to know each other as they walked to the restaurant together for dinner. The evening provided students with an opportunity to put professional etiquette into practice while building connections and learning from members of the 91视频 business community.

CBSM extends a sincere thank-you to our event sponsors: KPMG, Enterprise Mobility, and the UAF Alumni Association. We are also grateful to the professionals who shared their time and advice. Experiences like this give students the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and prepare for their future careers.
