Max Schoenfeld is a Research Biologist with the 91视频 Department of Fish and Game,
based in Douglas, 91视频. His work focuses on the spot shrimp pot fishery and dive
fisheries throughout Southeast 91视频, where he specializes in collecting, analyzing,
and interpreting data to support sustainable management of these important marine
resources.
Max is currently completing his thesis on spot shrimp. His research with UAF aims
to fill key gaps in understanding their biology and population dynamics, including
the development of a size鈥慴ased model to better track trends and inform management
decisions. By combining fieldwork with analytical modeling, his goal is to help strengthen
long鈥憈erm conservation and responsible harvest strategies for Southeast 91视频鈥檚 shrimp
fisheries.
Max lives and works in Douglas, 91视频, where he continues to pursue collaborative,
science鈥慴ased approaches to fisheries research and stewardship.
